Mounts’ gardens and programs provide the best horticultural and botanical information available related to South Florida’s unique plants and environment.

Mounts displays tropical and subtropical plants from around the world, including plants native to Florida, exotic trees, tropical fruit, herbs, citrus, palms and more.

As a component of the Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service, and through its affiliation with the University of Florida, Mounts is the place to connect with Extension Horticulturists, Master Gardeners, the Florida Yards and Neighborhoods Program, and professional horticultural advisors, as well as a place of great beauty to enjoy year round.

Plant sales, family festivals, member breakfasts and auctions are some of the exciting special events available at Mounts to make the experience rewarding for the whole family.

MountsBotanical Garden is Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest botanical garden. The 14 acres of gardens contain more than 2,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants, both native and exotic, of wetland and arid land, edible and poisonous. There are flowering trees and shrubs, tropical fruit trees, bromeliads, palms, herbs, roses, a vegetable garden and other specialty plants interwoven throughout the landscape. As a facility of the Palm Beach County Extension Service, which is in partnership with the University of Florida and the Friends of Mounts Botanical Garden, its goal is to provide the highest quality plant and gardening information to local residents and visitors, while promoting the preservation of our incredibly fascinating environment.

Mounts Botanical Garden is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 400 p.m. We are closed on all observed Palm Beach County holidays.

There is a suggested $5.00 per person admission donation, except during special events.
